In a new interview, the actor says he’s “very proud” of his new role as the villainous leader of the Joker in Suicide Squad, and that he’d rather be famous for another film.
He told The Hollywood Reporter he’s always wanted to do more than he’s done and the idea of being a “hollywood superstar” has never seemed more appealing.
He said he had always thought he would do another movie after the one he ended with.
“I’ve always wanted the next one.
I think it’s really nice that people are paying attention to the stuff I’m doing, because that’s all I want to do,” he said.
“But I think that’s what it’s all about: doing something new, and doing it in a way that’s going to be relevant.”
He also talked about the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
“You know, I don’t think people really know what Batman is doing, but I think I’m leading an army of superheroes,” he explained.
“Batman is a character that’s a very serious, serious character.
He has a very big ego.
But he’s also very good at manipulating the public, and I think people are going to see that in that movie.”
Suicide Squad opens in U.S. theaters on November 5.
