In the wake of the “Biltmore House” series finale, Netflix has announced a new special, “A Series Of Unfortuntely Events,” which will premiere on October 3rd.
The new episode will be the first time that “A series of unfortunate events” will feature the main cast in an episode since “Biltsmore House,” a series of books and films that followed the lives of the Biltmore family in New York during the 1940s and ’50s.
The story will take place in a fictional New York, with the same cast as in the original books and the films, and will follow the exploits of the titular “Bitter” (played by Liam Neeson), who is working to bring down a powerful crime boss (played here by Daniel Kaluuya).
The new special will be a prequel to the books, and feature all new footage and characters.
The title of the new episode is “The Death Of An American,” and the trailer promises “The greatest finale we’ve ever seen.”
In the series, the Bitter family’s adventures lead them to New York City’s notorious “Bitsworth Hotel” and ultimately to a showdown between two of its most dangerous enemies: a “bitter” gangster named Big Jim and a murderous gangster called the Bloods.
“A show that takes place in New Orleans and the Louisiana countryside will tell a true story that you don’t often see,” said Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos in a statement.
“It’s a story that explores how the American dream is often shattered by tragedy and how we can never really escape those challenges, and that the real tragedy is in the hearts of those who do.”
A series of events will lead to the Bitters’ downfall and ultimately the demise of the entire family.
The episode will premiere with footage from the original film, and follow the Bilts as they travel across the country trying to stop the bloods from taking over the city.
“The death of an American is at the heart of the story,” Sarando said in a press release.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring this special to Netflix viewers and to tell the story of the families of the original Biltters and the Bats, which will become the foundation for the American Dream.”
A Series-Of-Unfortunate-Events” will premiere in the U.S. and Canada on October 4th.
The first episode of “Aseries’ will also premiere on Netflix in the United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa, with a U.K. premiere set for the end of the month.
In the U, “Bats” will begin its American premiere on November 18th, and “Birds” will arrive on Netflix on November 22nd.
“Bets” is available on Netflix now.
