Now you can get a dog from a dog shelter for less than $500!
This is because dog owners can now buy a dog for as little as $500 with a one-off purchase from a local dog rescue.
It’s the latest in a growing trend of dog-sales to reduce dog owners’ debt.
“We are in the midst of a huge dog-selling boom in Queensland, where dogs are being sold on the streets for hundreds of dollars,” Dog Shelter Queensland executive director Steve MacKay said.
“There’s a huge demand and a lot of people who want a dog who aren’t getting a good deal are getting dogs.”
And so, the shelters are really trying to take advantage of that.
“Dog owners who buy a home from a puppy mill can then sell it on to a new owner.
The $500 deposit is waived if the buyer pays the full cost of the dog and the buyer completes the paperwork to transfer ownership.
The sale takes place at the Dogs for Sale website from 10am to 5pm (AEST).”
It’s a great way to get a good price and get a new home,” Mr MacKay added.”
It also allows people to save money on a pet.
“Dog Shelter Queensland was able to find a dog with a pedigree and breed that would fit the description of a suitable pet owner.”
I think it’s a good thing for the community,” Mr McLeod said.
